Geek Day is Made Possible by World Wide Technology

Tips to Make the Most of Your Trip to Geek Day

1. Trust us, you won't want to miss any part of Geek Day
Unlike some other national events where you duck in and out of the conference to see the sights (well, not YOU of course, but some people) the agenda at Geek  Day is packed tight with things you don't want to miss.  We have some great surprises spread throughout the agenda and arriving late or leaving early means you  miss key information.  Trust me, we dislike lengthy and irrelevant presentations just as much as you do, so we avoid them like the plague.  That means things like the Opening Keynote and the Closing Guest Speaker will be just as valuable to you as every other piece of Geek Day.  So, plan to be there early and to stay late.  We promise to make it fun and worth your while.

2.  Plan to travel in the day before Geek Day starts to allow time to get settled and rest up, and plan to leave the day following the closing ceremony.
Registration opens at 7 a.m. and the Opening Keynote will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m., meaning that over 1000 people will be flowing through registration in  just 90 minutes.  The Opening Keynote will kickoff the firehouse of information attendees have come to expect at Geek Day, and your brain will need to be well rested in order to take it all in!

3.  Schedule sightseeing visits for the days before Geek Day, or stay over the weekend after!
There is so much to see and do in Washington, DC.  We highly recommend staying and enjoying the area.  But remember that Geek Day is physically taxing - taking in so much information in so little time would take its toll on even Steve Wozniak.

4.  Allow time for Networking
If you come to Geek Day and don't attend the networking receptions then you are missing out on a key component - sharing ideas, best practices and experiences  with your peers.  Leverage Geek Day and the Sponsors' receptions to grow your circle of colleagues.

5.  Divide and Conquer

Register yourself for Geek Day, and then register a colleague.  Develop a game plan to cover all of the sessions and Labs, and then compare notes at the end of the day.
